INSTALL Professionals Prepare for Several Condo Hardwood Projects

12/1/2008

A large number of condominium building projects are slated to begin in the coming months, and flooring installers from the INSTALL Philadelphia & Vicinity Floor Covering Professionals will be handling the bulk of the hardwood flooring installation. To prepare, instructors of the INSTALL Philadelphia program will combine its own hardwood flooring training program with input from the National Wood Flooring Association. The installers will be training on materials donated by hardwood manufacturer, Kahrs.

“These condo projects have a big need for proficient wood flooring installers. INSTALL contractors are ready to take on these jobs because they have these types of experts, but we want to take the extra step of honing their skills so that the projects are completed with excellence,” said Patrick McGinley, coordinator of the INSTALL Philadelphia & Vicinity program. He added that The eight-week course focuses on the engineered wood flooring process, including substrate prep, moisture, glue down, floating laminate, nail down, layout, installation, and repair.
