Apprentices, Certified Floorlayers Honored by Local 1823 Contractors

It pays to be a certified floor covering professional with INSTALL Local 1823. The union's contractor association recently rewarded the journeymen who demonstrated their skill by successfully passing the resilient and/or carpet certification tests. LU 1823 members were given $300 for the first certification and $299 for the second.
The men received their recognition checks at the Local's June 9 meeting. Also at that gathering, journeyman certificates were awarded to graduating apprentices. Brian Baraniewicz was recognized as the top apprentice and received a $500 check.
On hand to honor these LU 1823 members was the Executive Board of the Resilient Flooring Association, the contractors' group of INSTALL Local 1823. Attending were Steve Conron from American Floors, Frank Pelosi of Metropolitan Contract Carpets, Chip Grimes from Facility Services Group, and Ed Pazulski of Pazulski Carpet and Tile.
