Extreme Home Makeover Taps LU 1823 Experts

More than 60 members of INSTALL Local 1823 were seen on the hit television series, Extreme Home Makeover. The popular TV show and its cast came to Northeast Philadelphia in late March to give a deserving family a new home.
INSTALL Local 1823 was charged with installing new ceramic flooring in the bathrooms and work on some wood flooring, and were given three days to complete everything. John McGrath, President of INSTALL Local 1823, reported that some men logged more than 30 hours in less than three days. The overall man hour total for those 72 hours topped 900.
"This was a worthy cause performed in very challenging conditions," McGrath said. "We were happy to help out."
The show aired on the ABC network in late April and was repeated during the summer.
