INSTALL Local 1823 is part of the Metropolitan Regional
Council of Carpenters. We cover eight counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania, the
state of Delaware and Eastern Maryland.
A union installer has the opportunity to work for fair wages and benefits. Our workers
are under a contract. They know when they are going to receive raises and how much
they will be earning, because their wage is established through collective bargaining.

What is a Union?

Health coverage
Health coverage for a members is provided by the Carpenters Fund along with Blue
Cross and Blue Shield of Pennsylvania. Together they supply the member and his or
her family with a major medical, dental, eye care and a prescription plan. Medical
coverage continues for the member and spouse throughout the members retirement.
Pension and Annuity
Two of the most important benefits are the pension and annuity.
For every hour a member works money is placed into his pension, annuity, and 401a
plan. These plans are paid through employer contributions and no money is withheld
from the employee's paycheck.
